Vermont and New Hampshire’s annual showdown in the Twin State Baseball Classic returns to the Green Mountain State on Saturday, June 28.
Eighteen of the top high school senior players make up the team that will represent Vermont against New Hampshire for the doubleheader matchup at Middlebury College’s Forbes Field.
First pitch of the twinbill is slated for 10 a.m. The doubleheader features two seven-inning contests. Admission to the event is free.
The Vermont squad includes players and coaches from 14 different high schools from all four divisions, the Vermont Baseball Coaches Association announced recently. The New Hampshire roster will be announced soon.
Originally held from 1983 to 2004, the series returned to its current doubleheader format in June 2015. A year ago, Vermont and new Hampshire split the doubleheader. It was the fifth twin-bill split in now eight series since it resumed in 2015, with now nine games settled by one run. A single nine-inning contest was played in 2023.
The Vermont coaches are Trevor Coyne (Mount Anthony) Mike Lacourse (North Country), Logan Cooke (Montpelier) and Chris Kendall (St. Johnsbury).
