Sep. 15—ROCHESTER — There will be more on the line than just football bragging rights when Century hosts John Marshall at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.

In a powerful show of unity and purpose, the schools are teaming up in an effort called Tackle Cancer, making the game a community fundraiser. Every dollar raised through T-shirt sales, food truck purchases and halftime donations will count toward each school’s total. The challenge is to become the school that raises the most money for the Tackle Cancer cause.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m., fans can enjoy food from local favorites including El Samurai, Corona’s Tacos, Minne’SNO’da Shaved Ice and Sinners ‘Sota. Each vendor will donate a portion of their proceeds to Tackle Cancer and those sales will be tallied toward the fundraising challenge.

Prior to kickoff, Tackle Cancer T-shirts will be sold for $10. All proceeds go directly to Tackle Cancer and every shirt sold adds to your school’s total.

At halftime, volunteers will pass donation buckets through the stands. Fans from both schools are encouraged to give generously and help their team win the fundraising challenge.
