The rosters for the 24th annual North/South All-Star Football Classic were announced Friday by the Vermont Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
The annual classic will be held Nov. 23 at Sabine Field on the campus of Norwich University. Kickoff for the game is 12:30 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets online and also at Sabine Field the day of the game. Admission is $11 for adults and $8 for students.
A year ago at Castleton the North topped the South, 33-14, to take a 12-11 edge in the series. The game was founded in 2001 by former Middlebury College football coach Mickey Heinecken, now the chairman emertius of the game. Proceeds of the contest benefit the scholarship and grant program of the Vermont Chapter. Longtime coach Mike Empey is now the game’s chairman.
This year’s head coaches are Adam Perry of Fair Haven for the South and Ethan Curtis of Essex for the North. Perry will be joined with his Fair Haven assistants, D.J. Perry, Hunter Muzzy, Caleb Lisai, P.J. Szabo and Keith Hier. The North assistants are Reid Rando, Tim Root and Norm Lozier from Mount Mansfield; Taite Carpenter, Kerry LeClair, Rich Lowrey, Mike Porter, Jason Gershon and Mark Bombard of Essex; and Chris Cadorette of U-32.
