The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest in its history. It will be a 104-game tournament featuring 48 teams across 16 host cities in three countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Miami is one of the US host cities alongside Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

As one of the most-anticipated sports events in 2026, tickets for the games are in high demand. Fans have expressed concerns about FIFA’s “dynamic pricing” and that it also acts as its own resale platform.

In response to the backlash, FIFA announced cheaper tickets, but there’s a catch. Here’s what to know about tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Miami games.

What is the FIFA World Cup? How often is it held?

The FIFA World Cup is an international soccer (or football, according to most of the world) tournament contested by senior men’s national teams from various countries. It is held every four years. The sport’s global governing body, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), organizes it. 

The first tournament, held in 1930, featured only 13 teams; it has now grown to 48 for 2026.

What dates will the FIFA World Cup 2026 be in Miami, Florida?

The 2026 World Cup will run from June 11, 2026, to July 19, 2026.

Miami is set to host seven matches at the Hard Rock Stadium. Here are the dates:

Are tickets available for the FIFA World Cup?

Yes, tickets are available.

They are currently running their third sales phase for tickets called “The Random Selection Draw. It is open to anyone interested in purchasing tickets. The application period for this sales phase runs from Dec. 11 to Jan. 13, 2026, and begins and ends at 11 a.m. ET.

FIFA said on Dec. 16 that it had already received more than 20 million ticket requests.

While prices for the Miami games are not available, several outlets have reported that games within the host countries have been priced at thousands. USA TODAY reported the cheapest tickets for group stage games that did not involve host nations Canada, Mexico and the U.S. ranged from $120 to $265, and from $4,185 to $8,680 for the July 19 championship match in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

USA TODAY also reported in March that FIFA had begun offering luxury ticket experiences for fans.

The ticket package options include a venue option that lets you watch every match (six to nine) at a single location, a four-match option for any World Cup location, and a Follow My Team option for most teams.

How can I get cheap tickets for FIFA 2026?

FIFA announced on Dec. 16 that some tickets to all matches at next year’s World Cup in North America will be made available for a discounted price of $60. The Associated Press reported the number of $60 tickets for each game is likely to be from 400 to 750 per team.

According to USA TODAY, FIFA will distribute new “supporter entry tier” tickets to national federations of participating countries, and those federations will be allowed to distribute them to loyal fans who have previously attended their nations’ home and away matches.

How to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup

In the United States, Fox holds the broadcast rights for the entire tournament, according to USA TODAY.

NBCUniversal will air the Spanish-language rights, and Bell Media will broadcast the games in Canada.
