A new report reveals seven expected suitors for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby if he does get traded this offseason.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams “keeping tabs” on Crosby.
Breer also names the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills.
“We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability,” Breer reported.
When it comes to Crosby actually being available, Breer didn’t have a definitive answer, but he is clearly leaning toward the Raiders star being moved.
“I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week. But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading,” Breer said. “I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider.”
As far as compensation is concerned, Breer doesn’t think the Raiders are going to get their reported asking price, which is two first-round picks and a player.
Breer points to Crosby’s age, as well as his injury issues the past two years as reasons why Las Vegas will fall short of their demands.
“Vegas, to be sure, isn’t going to give Crosby away. I also believe, though, that it’d be difficult to find the haul that the Raiders got for Khalil Mack eight years ago, or what Dallas got for Micah Parsons last year, or what the Dolphins received for Laremy Tunsil in 2019,” Breer said..
“All of those guys were traded for packages fronted by two first-round picks. All of those guys were also much younger, nearing the ends of their rookie deals,” Breer added. “He has seven NFL seasons under his belt. He ended the past two seasons bound for surgery. Now, no one does more to keep himself physically fit than Crosby. But these factors will all have to be considered.”
The Rams are the most surprising team to be mentioned here. After all, they’re already well-stocked with Jared Verse and Byron Young.
That said, with Matthew Stafford retiring being a possibility on a yearly basis, the Rams might want to really go for it in 2026 and acquiring Crosby would be a good way to go about that.
The Patriots and Ravens are in a different boat.
New England might need a new edge rusher opposite Harold Landry with K’Lavon Chaisson a pending free agent. Adding Crosby would bolster their chances of getting back to the Super Bowl.
Baltimore needs a total overhaul after lackluster production from the position last season, and with Kyle Van Noy set to be a free agent. Trading for Crosby would offer a phenomenal foundation for change along the edge in Baltimore.
