USA TODAY Sports has shifted the focus to the heartland of the U.S., announcing the ALL-USA Midwest Boys Basketball Team and highlighting a group of high school athletes who have made the region one of the best in the country.
There aren’t many areas with a richer basketball history than some of the states that make the Midwest so great. States like Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin consistently put out elite talent that shines at the next level and beyond.
Each player selected to the Midwest roster is automatically a finalist for the ALL-USA National Boys Basketball Team, USA TODAY Sports’ All-America list that debuted in 1982. The national team will be revealed in early April.
The Midwest Region encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
