MONTPELIER — The Community College of Vermont (CCV) has been recognized as a Military Times Best for Vets 2025 College. This national ranking is considered the largest and most comprehensive evaluation of how well colleges and universities support military service members, veterans, and military-connected families, according to a CCV release. It looks at the services schools offer, the resources available to help veterans plan their careers, and how schools help students make the most of the education benefits they have earned through their service.

CCV ranked first in Vermont, 32nd in the Northeast and Islands, and 47th nationally among General Education and Career Technical programs. Only 357 colleges and universities earned a place on the 2025 list.

CCV says it was honored for its strong tradition of supporting veterans and their families, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, and helping those who have served achieve their academic and professional goals. CCV serves over 400 veteran and military-connected students each semester.

“This announcement is a testament to CCV’s deep commitment to supporting veteran and military-connected students,” said CCV President Joyce Judy in a statement. “We are proud to be a place where these students can be successful as they further their education and prepare for new career goals. We are grateful to all CCV community members who have served.”

CCV is Vermont’s second-largest college, serving more than 10,000 students each year. With 12 locations and online learning options, students don’t have to travel far from their communities to access CCV’s degree and certificate programs, workforce, secondary and continuing education opportunities, and academic and veterans support services.
