New England Patriots linked to the Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown after a disturbing season

A few hours ago, CBS Sports’ popular NFL insider, Jonathan Jones, hinted that the New England Patriots might be the ones to acquire the Philadelphia Eagles’ star player, A.J. Brown.CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones noted in a recent report, “For months we have been reporting it is likely A.J. Brown will not be with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2026 season…The New England Patriots remain the frontrunner to acquire the All-Pro receiver, and what has been true all offseason continues to be true today as it relates to his contract.”CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones added, “It hurts the Eagles’ 2026 salary cap to deal Brown before June 1, adding an extra $20 million to their cap before that date.”CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones continued, “Philadelphia has positioned itself to move forward in 2026 with a receivers group that can live without Brown. At this point it would be a surprise if Brown is not on a new team by the start of training camp.”However, the New England Patriots have not confirmed the speculations concerning A.J. Brown yet as the team remains silent. The Philadelphia Eagles’ star player, A.J. Brown went through a lot of interesting events in the last season as his performance recorded a slight decline since 2024.In 2024, A.J. Brown finished with 67 receptions and 1,079 receiving yards across 13 games. In the last season, the star player finished with 78 receptions and 1,003 receiving yards in 15 games. While A.J. Brown dealt with a brutal hamstring injury in the last season, he also made a few controversial comments about the team’s offense. In November, while speaking to the media, A.J. Brown said, “It’s not just solely about my situation. I want to win, too…we can’t just keep slapping a Band-Aid over the defense doing their job and getting us out of trouble. At what point are we going to pick up our slack as an offense? The popular wide receiver added, “That’s what I’m getting at. It’s not about, ‘I don’t care about winning, all I care about is stats.’ No. It’s been week after week sometimes we’re not doing our job on offense…”For now, all eyes are on whether A.J. Brown chooses to stay in the Philadelphia Eagles for the new season.
