The New England Patriots acquired a new No. 1 wide receiver by trading for AJ Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. After four seasons playing in Philly, it appears Brown is over the moon about playing in New England.

During his introductory press conference with the franchise, the 28-year-old wide receiver compared playing football in New England to essentially living in Heaven, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Brown admitted he’s still adjusting to playing for his childhood favorite team.

“Just talking to my mom, you know, I’m still in awe,” said Brown about being in New England. “Trynna adjust and walking up the hill with the uniform on, I was like, ‘Man, this is real.’ Caught myself at one point in practice, I wasn’t paying attention because I was like, ‘Damn, I’m a Patriot.’ Just trying to take it all in as much as I can… And like I said, I’m enjoying it. I know this ain’t heaven, but it’s close to it.”

The seven-year veteran is certainly excited to play for the Patriots. AJ Brown posted soon after the trade was finalized of himself as a child wearing an AI-made Tom Brady jersey. Even though the Brady jersey was fake, he has stated throughout his NFL career that he has been a fan of the Patriots throughout his childhood.

Now his dreams have seemingly come true. New England gets a wide receiver on the roster who has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in four consecutive campaigns with the Eagles. Brown finished last season with 78 receptions, 1,003 yards, and seven touchdowns.
