HIGH POINT — The High Point Police Department will take on the High Point Fire Department in a charity softball game on Friday that promises to be a night of family fun.

The annual Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Game will be at 6:30 p.m. at Truist Point stadium, 310 N. Elm St., High Point.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased the night of the game at the box office.

The annual charity game raises money for two groups – the High Point Police Department’s Angels in Blue, which provides Christmas gifts to dozens of families each year, and A Bed and A Book, an area charitable organization that provides brand-new twin beds and books to economically disadvantaged children in the Triad.

The event features on-field games, including Race the Chiefs, where several children will race around the bases against High Point Police Chief Curtis Cheeks III and High Point Fire Chief Brian Evans. Police and fire department mascots also will be available for meet-and-greets and photo opportunities.
