The FIFA World Cup is the most-watched sports tournament in the world, with billions of fans tuning in to see which soccer team will become champion. The next iteration of the tournament will be hosted from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across three countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. In anticipation of the event, FIFA has already put one million tickets on sale. It is now starting phase two of sales, with another million being made available to soccer fans. Here’s everything you need to know.
Residents of the hosting countries will have exclusivity in the ticket draw for the World Cup
The second phase of the ticket draw opened on Monday and will run through Friday, 11 a.m. EST, according to the Associated Press. The draw includes exclusivity for residents of the three host countries. Fans from the U.S., Canada and Mexico whose entries will be selected from the draw will have the ability to buy tickets hosted in their home country.

“We already have seen massive interest from around the world for this tournament, and especially from within the host countries as Canada, Mexico and the United States prepare to host the biggest FIFA World Cup yet,” Heimo Schirgi, the world cup’s chief operating officer. “This second phase, with its host country domestic exclusivity time slot, will allow us to say ‘thank you’ to these local fans, while ensuring global opportunity as well.”
Fans from the hosting countries who enter the draw before Friday will receive a time slot through a randomized process in order to purchase single-match tickets. These tickets will be available for purchase on Nov. 12, while slots will be issued through Nov. 16.
Fans living outside of the hosting countries also have the ability to enter the draw. So far, fans from the U.S., Canada and Mexico have purchased the most tickets. Then follow residents of England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina and France.
In total, there will be four phases of ticket sales. The third will kickstart on Dec. 5, when teams will be assigned to their groups in the World Cup. Remaining tickets will be made available in the spring on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the Philly Voice.

How many World Cup tickets will be available, and how much does it cost?
There are about 7.1 million seats available for the 104 matches that will be held at 16 venues in North America, according to the Associated Press. Yet, it is unclear how many will be available for sale to the public.
Regarding pricing, the lowest-priced seats are set at $60. A majority of seats are priced at a higher price, according to the AP. Tickets for the June 12 opening match for the U.S. ranged between $560 and $2,735 when sales opened. One ticket was then listed at over $60,000 on the resale website.
The reason for such high prices is that FIFA is using dynamic pricing for the first time in the tournament’s history. Ticket costs are therefore expected to fluctuate heavily.
