Only a few hours after the New England Revolution announced the departure of manager Caleb Porter, the rumour mill is already reporting his replacement.

MLS Insider Tom Bogert claims on Monday evening that the Major League Soccer side has ‘made contact’ with Jim Curtin over the vacancy.

A former two-time MLS Coach of the Year, the 46-year-old is reportedly interested in the position and ‘open to talking’ with the club. He has been identified as the top target.

Curtin was considered a club legend at Philadelphia Union before eventually spending 10 years as manager, helping win their first-ever trophy (2020 Supporters’ Shield).

However, after a fallout with the Union’s front office, he has since been out of work. The new report suggests he would be open to a return to managing “for the right opportunity.”

In addition to Curtin, the Revolution are likely to consider multiple names for the position, including Gio Savarese, whom they previously interviewed.

The club currently sits 11th in the MLS Eastern Conference.
