Speculation surrounding A.J. Brown and a potential trade from the Philadelphia Eagles continues to happen around the league. While a deal doesn’t seem close, one NFL insider believes there’s a feel around the league about where the star receiver could ultimately land.
During a recent appearance on NBC Sports Boston, Mike Giardi spoke about the possibility that Brown could be headed to the New England Patriots. According to Giardi, multiple people around the NFL believe New England will eventually be the team that lands the Pro Bowl wideout.

“Who knows if this is a game of telephone, but talking to people who work in the league, who work for teams, they all believe A.J. Brown is going to end up in New England,” Giardi said, per Patriots Wire.
If that scenario were to happen, it’d be a major move for the Patriots as they look to rebuild their offense and add a proven playmaker to the roster. For the Eagles, however, it’d be tough to let him go, even if I think they should trade him.
Despite the attitude, Brown is a very, very good player, and there’s always something to be said about that.
Giardi also said that a potential trade might not happen soon, adding that the situation could take time to get going.

“This probably takes a little while. They’ve got the runway here. But to me, eventually, and now that you have [Romeo] Doubs too, it’s less of a, ‘You’ve got to give us a one and a two.’”
Giardi’s comments referenced Romeo Doubs, who will factor into how New England evaluates its receiver depth and future roster plans. If the Patriots feel comfortable with their options at the position, their offer for Brown could potentially drop. Instead of demanding multiple high draft picks, Giardi believes a more modest return might ultimately get the deal done.
“‘No, we have a good player who we think can be a No. 1. How about a 2 and a 4?’ I think it’s eventually going to get done.”
While trade rumors are common during the NFL offseason, there’s definitely something here with Brown.
