MANCHESTER, N.H. —

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has returned to work after stepping away Saturday during rounds 4-7 of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Vrabel said he sought counseling during that time following a recent scandal involving former reporter at The Athletic, Dianna Russini.

The New York Post posted pictures of Vrabel at Salt Lake City International Airport during his time away.

While Vrabel was gone, the team selected defensive back Karon Prunty of Wake Forest, offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover of Texas A&M, linebacker Namdi Obiazor of TCU, quarterback Behren Morton of Texas Tech, quarterback Jam Miller of Alabama and linebacker Quintayvious Hutchins of Boston College.

At a news conference Thursday, Vrabel said he trusted the team’s personnel to handle the draft in his absence.
