Players will have one final tune-up before the PGA Championship at this week’s 2026 Truist Championship. Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, is hosting this signature event with a 72-player field at the course where the PGA Championship was played in 2025. Below, we look at Truist Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions before the first round begins on Thursday morning.

Scottie Scheffler is taking the week off, but Rory McIlroy is playing for the first time since winning the Masters last month and is the favorite at +600. Xander Schauffele (+1100) and Ludvig Aberg (+1400) are also teeing it up again after skipping last week’s tournament in Miami, while Cameron Young (+850) is looking to make it back-to-back wins.

Quail Hollow is a par 71 and 7,583 yards long, bringing major championship-like conditions to the Truist Championship. McIlroy is the defending champion after winning in 2024 at 17-under; he also won in 2021. Sepp Straka (+4000) won the 2025 edition held at Philadelphia Cricket Club as the course underwent a restoration project before last year’s PGA Championship, with all tees and greens being redone, as were the bunkers. The winning scores in the last 5 non-major playings of this tournament were between 10-under and 19-under.

Truist Championship – Expert picks

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 5:36 p.m. ET.

Xander Schauffele (+1100)

Schauffele has been trending toward a win and this could be the week he gets it done. He’s a 2-time runner-up (2023, 2024) at this event and has finished between third and T-12 in his last 4 starts on the PGA Tour this season. It’s a perfect combination of course history and recent form, making him a great pick despite his short odds.

Matt Fitzpatrick (+1400)

Next to Young, there may not be anyone who’s hotter than Fitzpatrick right now. He has wins in 3 of his last 4 starts, including the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic with his brother. He’s plenty long enough off the tee to tame Quail Hollow, and just tied for eighth here in the PGA Championship last year.

Ludvig Aberg (+1400)

Aberg shockingly missed the cut here last year at the PGA, but Quail Hollow should be tailor-made for his game. He’s straight and long off the tee and is a terrific ball striker with his irons. He’s been lighting it up as of late, too, posting 4 top-5s in his last 5 starts.

Truist Championship picks – Contenders

Ben Griffin (+3500)

Griffin got off to a slower start this season, but he’s finished T-10 and solo third in his last 2 starts. He’s added distance off the tee and finished eighth here last year at the PGA Championship. He’s rounding into form at the perfect time.

Gary Woodland (+6000)

Woodland missed the cut at the PGA in 2025, but finished fifth at this event in 2021 and T-14 in 2023. He’s playing better now, too, following up his win in Houston by adding another top-10 (T-8) at the RBC Heritage.

Sam Burns (+3300)

Burns has 4 top-21 finishes in his last 5 starts after missing cuts at the Genesis and Arnold Palmer Invitational. He tied for 19th at this course last year and finished T-13 the year prior, so his course history at Quail Hollow is quite good.

Truist Championship picks – Long shots

Denny McCarthy (+10000)

McCarthy has a shockingly good record here in his last 3 appearances, finishing T-8, T-6 and T-8 in that span. His season has not gone well, finishing top-20 just one time at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, but maybe Quail Hollow is just the course he needs.

Harry Hall (+8000)

Hall missed the cut in 2023, but notched a T-19 at the PGA last year, which was a surprisingly impressive finish for the Englishman. He’s been a little bit up and down as of late, but he tied for 30th at the Cadillac Championship last week after a missed cut and T-65 in his previous 2 starts.
