Another piece of the Detroit Lions‘ 2026 schedule has crystallized.
The Lions are hosting the New England Patriots in Week 10 of the 2026 NFL season from FC Bayern Munich Stadium in Munich, Germany. As previously reported, it will be part of a FOX triple-header and kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 15.
The Lions last met the Patriots on Oct. 9, 2022, in Foxborough, Mass., from Gillette Stadium. Bailey Zappe, Rhamondre Stevenson and Jakobi Meyers led the way in a 29-0 Patriots shutout victory over the Lions. Detroit trails the all-time series against New England, 8-5.
The Lions‘ trip to Munich will mark the franchise’s third international game. Detroit played at Wembley Stadium in London in back-to-back seasons in 2014 and 2015. The Lions beat the Atlanta Falcons, 22-21, on Oct. 26, 2014. Then, on Nov. 1, 2015, the Lions fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in London, 45-10.
In its first international game, then-Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford passed for 325 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Detroit rallied from a 21-0 halftime deficit to down the Falcons. Golden Tate caught seven passes for 151 yards and a score.
The Lions won with a 48-yard field goal from kicker Matt Prater. Prater had just missed a 43-yard try, but a delay of game penalty gave him another opportunity and Prater drilled the 48-yarder.
It will be the sixth NFL game played in Germany and the third in Munich.
This season, a record nine international contests will be played across four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums.
There will be three London games (two in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, one in Wembley Stadium); a game at Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain; the San Francisco 49ers will play the Los Angeles Rams at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia; a game from Estadio Banorte in Mexico City; a game from Stade de France Stadium in Paris; and the Baltimore Ravens will meet the Dallas Cowboys from Maracanã Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The entire 2026 NFL schedule release will take place on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
