With less than a year to go before the kickoff of the 2026 World Cup in North America, Donald Trump has voiced concerns about security in some of the U.S. cities selected to host tournament matches.
The United States, co-hosting the event alongside Canada and Mexico, has already announced its list of host cities: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Francisco. However, the former U.S. president believes changes can’t be ruled out if any cities are considered “too dangerous” during the competition:
We will not allow that. If necessary, we will move some matches. I hope it doesn’t come to that.
The World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the final scheduled at the New York/New Jersey stadium.
