The $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy game is set to return for its ninth year as Nebraska faces Minnesota on Friday, Oct. 17.

This fan-led tradition has raised nearly $175,000 since 2017 for the Team Jack Foundation and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

The event supports pediatric brain cancer research and the Casey O’Brien Team One Four Infusion Center Transformation Fund.

“Pediatric brain cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children and research is severely underfunded,” said Kylie Dockter, executive director of the Team Jack Foundation.

The foundation has committed $6.5 million toward a childhood brain tumor program in Omaha, Neb. For more information and to donate, visit brokenchairtrophy.com.
