It’s a special night at S3 Arenas East on Wednesday evening as the Swift Current U13 AA ServiceMaster Broncos host a Hockey Fights Cancer fundraising game against Moose Jaw.

“We’ve been doing some pre-fundraising and we’ve raised $2,500 out of our $5,000 goal,” said parent and event organizer Caitlin Mann. “We’re going to have some special guests who’ve battled cancer drop the puck. The boys will be taped up in purple, and we’re going to take a moment to stand up and share our fight for cancer cards.”

The players also talked about who they are fighting for in a social media video.

“It’s important for them to take a moment and think about those things,” Mann said. “People that are close to them. Lots of them know the two girls who will be coming tonight from their school. I think it’s just important for them to share this platform they have on the hockey team to do good.”

You can donate at the game tonight or by clicking here.
