New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore has been charged with assault and battery, the second Patriots player to face an assault charge in as many days.

Barmore, 26, is accused of picking up the mother of his child and throwing her to the ground in his home in Mansfield, Mass., according to a police report obtained by Boston NBC affiliate WBTS.

The charges against Barmore were announced the day after Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs was accused of assaulting his personal chef after she demanded payment for her work.

Both Diggs and Barmore have denied the allegations. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel implied on Wednesday that both players could play in the team’s final regular season game on Sunday, though he said Barmore was away from the team due to an illness.

Barmore’s girlfriend told police they got into an argument over food and air conditioning in Barmore’s home while she was staying there on Aug. 8, according to the police report. The woman said she called her mom and attempted to leave, but Barmore snatched the phone and ended the call.

She then said she attempted to open the front door and yell for help, but Barmore picked her off the ground and threw her to the floor, the police report states. The woman eventually managed to leave and took a ride all the way to Delaware, cops said.

Barmore was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery on a household/family member. Diggs faces charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault in his case, which involves a Dec. 2 incident.
