Who wanted a World Cup spot the most?

Tuesday saw the final six spots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup decided. Four games involved the European qualifiers, which included Italy, Sweden, Poland and more.

Two more games in the inter-confederation playoffs featured Iraq, Bolivia, Jamaica and DR Congo, with the respective winners advancing.

Here’s what to know about which nations qualified:

Who qualified for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday?

Here are the results for each game:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina 1, Italy 1 (4-1 penalties)
  • Sweden 3, Poland 2
  • Turkey 1, Kosovo 0
  • Czechia 2, Denmark 2 (3-1 penalties)
  • DR Congo 1, Jamaica 0
  • Iraq 2, Bolivia 1

What groups will the winners play in?

Here are the group-stage teams awaiting the winners:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina: Group B (Canada, Switzerland, Qatar)
  • Sweden: Group F (Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia)
  • Turkey: Group D (USMNT, Paraguay, Australia)
  • Czechia: Group A (Mexico, South Africa, South Korea)
  • DR Congo: Group K (Portugal, Colombia, Uzbekistan)
  • Iraq: Group I (France, Senegal, Norway)

When is the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

The 2026 tournament will run from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19.

The second-place team will receive $33 million and the third and fourth place teams will earn $29M and $27M respectively.
