Becker will stay with the Catamounts after speaking with the Saints about their coaching vacancy, according to a source.

The source said no offer was made to Becker, who is 351-144 over 15 seasons with six NCAA Tournament appearances. He’s 8-0 all-time against Siena. The Catamounts are scheduled to play Siena at MVP Arena next season.

The search continues at Siena to replace Gerry McNamara, who was hired by Syracuse last week. Siena also interviewed Marquette assistant Nevada Smith last weekend, according to sources.

Siena also spoke with former Siena head coach Fran McCaffery, now at the University of Pennsylvania, before those talks “fizzled,” according to sources. McCaffery led the Saints to three straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles from 2008 to 2010 before leaving for the University of Iowa.

It was unclear which other candidates Siena could still be considering, or if the Saints have moved on to other options. Hofstra associate head coach Mike DePaoli, a College of Saint Rose graduate, has also expressed interest, according to a source.
