The high girls events at the 2026 Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., came to a conclusion Friday with the championship finales in the running events.

The included the Championship of America races in the 4X100, 4X400, 4X800, and the Distance Medley. Teams from Jamaica performed well as they did all weekend at the relays with the team from Edwin Allen taking the 4X100 crown while the quartet from Hydel won the 4X400 event.
Union Catholic of New Jersey, meanwhile, found gold in the Distance Medley event, and Florida’s IMG Academy finished off the night with a first-place run the 4X800 final.
This year marked the 130th running of the Penn Relays, an event that dates back to April 21, 1895. It’s the oldest track and field competition staged in the United States with more than 15,000 athletes competing annually and at least 100,000 spectators regularly attending across the event’s three days.
The high school portion of the Penn Relays will continue through Saturday when the final boys events are staged including the 4X400 relays and the Championships of America in all the relay events.

High school girls track schedule for Friday
The championships for the girls running events will take place Friday starting at 2 p.m. with the 4X100 relay championships.
The premier events will be the relay Championships of America in the 4X100, 4X400, and 4X800.
