The 2026 Truist Championship received a makeover after heavy rains delayed Round 1. The threesomes and modified tee times will carry over into today’s second round, with the action at Quail Hollow starting more than 3 hours later than the original plan.

But the weather projects to be starkly different today in Charlotte, a welcome change from the rain-soaked morning Thursday. Matt McCarty closed with three birdies to enter Round 2 at 8 under par, while Sungjae Im’s eagle on No. 7 helped him vault up the leaderboard. Nicolai Højgaard caught fire over a four-hole stretch in the back nine to be part of the group tied at 5 under, along with Kristoffer Reitan, Nick Taylor and Harry Hall. Tommy Fleetwood, Corey Conners and Cameron Young had strong opening rounds, too.

Playing his first tournament since winning the Masters, Rory McIlroy played every hole to par until he birdied his last hole of the day. Ludvig Åberg made up for his first-hole bogey by finishing 2 under, while Matt Fitzpatrick enters the second round at 3 over. At least he doesn’t have to worry about missing the cut during the final tune-up before the PGA Championship.

Gainesville native Chandler Blanchet provided the last of the highlights for Round 2 at the Truist Championship, bouncing in an ace on the 188-yard 17th hole at Quail Hollow. The PGA Tour said it was the third hole-in-one on No. 17 and the first since Colt Knost and Carlos Ortiz did it in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016. Blanchet finished second at the Puerto Rico Open in March and tied for 18th at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida. The 30-year-old West Florida alum has appeared in one major, missing the cut at the 2025 U.S. Open.

The end of the first round of the Truist Championship was suspended by more bad weather Thursday night. Play was halted at 7:10 p.m. ET with 20 players yet to complete their first rounds. Play resumed at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Round 2 set to begin as scheduled at 11 a.m. Keep scrolling to see Round 2 tee times.
