In 1971, the team changed its name to the New England Patriots and established its home base in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Patriots play their home games at Gillette Stadium.

The team is owned by Robert Kraft, chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group, who has owned the Patriots since 1994.

All six Super Bowl victories came with Tom Brady as quarterback and Bill Belichick as head coach.

The Patriots have appeared in the Super Bowl more than any other team in league history. Their 12th appearance comes during the 2025–26 season, marking the franchise’s first Super Bowl trip since the Brady–Belichick era.
