Earlier this month, Vermont crowned high school girls basketball state champions in four divisions: Mount Mansfield in Division I; Hartford in D-II; Hazen in D-III; and Richford in D-IV.
Now, it’s time to name a playoff MVP among those four winners. And it’s up to you, the reader, to vote for the player who’s most deserving. We included multiple players from the four winning squads. Voting is unlimited until the polls close at 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.

Morgan Campbell, Mount Mansfield Union High School
Morgan Campbell may have not scored a ton for Mount Mansfield in the postseason, but she was a big rebounding presence. The junior grabbed eight rebounds and four steals in Mount Mansfield’s quarterfinals win. Campbell recorded 12 total rebounds in the Division I semifinals and championship and added 10 points against Rutland.
Sophia Derby, Richford Union High School
Sophia Derby powered Richford to its first championship in 10 years after scoring 28 points in the Rockets’ 43-23 D-IV championship win over West Rutland. The sophomore was the Rockets leading scorer in all four of Richford’s playoff games. Derby tallied a postseason high 31-points in Richford’s 74-14 win over Twinfield/Cabot in play-downs and scored 28 points in the Rockets’ 66-31 quarterfinals win over Long Trail.
Aly Dorman, Mount Mansfield Union High School
After scoring just seven points in the Cougars 35-25 win over North Country in the Division I semifinals, junior Aly Dorman put on her superhero cape for the Division I championship. Dorman scored the game winning basket with three seconds remaining to win Mount Mansfield its first championship, finishing with a game high 34-points helping the Cougars erase a 22-point third quarter deficit.
Charlotte Jasmin, Hartford High School
During the Hurricanes playoff run to the Division II title, Charlotte Jasmin became the fifth female high school basketball player in Vermont to score 2,000 points (and did it in four years). Jasmin accomplished the feat in Hartford’s 73-46 win over Spaulding in the quarterfinals during her 29-point, 12 rebound and 12 assist outing. The senior helped Hartford win the school’s second championship scoring 15-points in the Hurricanes 37-20 upset win of No. 1 Lamoille.
Maysa Long, Mount Mansfield Union High School
In the Cougars’ 48-33 quarterfinals win against Brattleboro, Maysa Long finished with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. The junior fell one rebound shy of a double-double in the semifinals finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds. Long chipped in 13 points and seven steals in Mount Mansfield’s 62-60 comeback win in the D-I championship game.
Mya Lumsden, Hazen Union High School
Mya Lumsden provided solid guard play in Hazen’s playoff run. The junior tallied 17 points in the Wildcats’ 73-27 victory over Green Mountain in the quarterfinals and was one of two Hazen players to score double-figures in the 55-53 overtime championship win over Windsor, finishing with 12 points.
Kelsie Rivard, Hazen Union High School
The junior delivered the championship sealing points in Hazen’s 55-53 overtime win over Windsor to claim the D-III title. Kelsie Rivard starred in the championship scoring a game-high 30 points including a pair of free throws to seal the game. Rivard was the Wildcats leading scorer Hazen’s other two playoff games. The forward contributed 20 points in the semifinals over Vergennes and 24 points in the quarterfinals.
Hailey Vanasse, Hartford High School
The senior proved to be the X-factor, Hartford needed to win the D-II championship with her ability to score layups and take advantage of fastbreaks. Hailey Vanasse scored 21 points in the Hurricanes’ 42-39 win over Milton in the D-II semifinals. The Hurricanes needed every single point from Vanasse to help stave off Milton’s comeback bid. Vanasse contributed 19 points in the quarterfinals and nine points in the D-II championship.
Clara Vengert, Richford Union High School
Clara Verngert was Richford’s most consistent secondary scorer during the Rockets run to the D-IV championship. The junior tallied 12 points in the D-IV semifinals and scored 11 points in the quarterfinals against Long Trail.
