FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Sept. 19, 2026) – The New England Revolution (14-8-4, 46 pts.) scored twice in second-half stoppage time to secure a 4-2 victory over Orlando City SC (10-12-4, 34 pts.) on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.
New England built a 2-0 lead behind a 19th-minute goal from captain Carles Gil and a left-footed finish by Peyton Miller early in the second half. Orlando responded with a pair of second-half goals, including a penalty kick near the end of regulation, to draw level at 2-2. The Revolution answered with two tallies in second-half stoppage time to secure their third straight win, as Miller and Gil each added their second goal of the night to seal a dramatic 4-2 victory.
New England nearly took the lead 11 minutes into the contest, as Gil lofted a ball over the right side of the Lions’ backline into Miller’s stride. The Homegrown Player, who earned his first senior United States Men’s National Team call-up earlier this week, let the ball bounce before unleashing a driven half-volley that narrowly went over the crossbar.
The Revolution continued to pile on the pressure and were rewarded with the breakthrough goal in the 19th minute. After Jackson Yueill forced a turnover in Orlando’s final third, the midfielder quickly picked out Carles Gil just outside the visitors’ box. The captain drove centrally along the edge of the 18-yard box before curling a clever finish over Orlando goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, which was helped along by a deflection. Yueill’s helper was his third assist of the campaign and his second in the last two games.
Orlando responded by generating their most dangerous look of the first half just three minutes after New England’s opener, as Martín Ojeda rifled a shot on frame. However, Matt Turner reacted quickly, punching the effort over the bar to preserve the Revolution’s lead. Turner recorded two saves in the first half, finishing the night with three to reach 100 saves on the season.
New England came out of the intermission on the front foot and doubled its lead less than 15 minutes into the second half. After Ethan Kohler won the ball near the top of the box, the center back recorded his first MLS assist by connecting with Dor Turgeman in midfield. The Israeli international, who has now landed on the scoresheet in consecutive matches, spun away from his defender and played a perfectly weighted ball into space for a sprinting Miller. The teenager drove toward goal before calmly slotting his shot into the lower-right corner, securing his sixth goal of the season.
With the Revolution protecting a lead, Orlando City surged back into the contest with two second-half goals. Iván Angulo scored the Lions’ first tally in the 62nd minute before Orlando’s talisman, Ojeda, converted a penalty kick with just three minutes remaining in regulation to pull the match level.
In second-half stoppage time, New England scored back-to-back goals to cap off the night. In the third minute of added time, Gil found Ilay Feingold, who entered the match as a 71st-minute substitute, open on the right flank. The right back spotted Miller’s run in behind and threaded a pass between Orlando’s backline to set up the Connecticut native’s finish, his first MLS brace.
Three minutes later, the Revolution doubled their advantage once again to put the match on ice. Brooklyn Raines, who also earned his first U.S. Men’s National Team call-up this week, held off several defenders on a coast-to-coast run before finding Turgeman open in the penalty area. The striker unselfishly laid the ball off to Gil, who rifled a shot inside the near post to put the finishing touch on the victory. The goal was Gil’s 12th of the season, a new career high.
New England, now second in the Eastern Conference through Saturday’s action, is back on the road next weekend to visit Real Salt Lake on Saturday, September 26. The 9:30 p.m. ET kick off at America First Field is available to watch on Apple TV in English and Spanish. Listen to the club’s local radio broadcasts on 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio (Portuguese).
