FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (September 24, 2026) – All five New England Revolution Academy teams were back in action this past weekend, with the Under-18s, Under-16s, and Under-15s hosting Toronto FC at the Revolution Training Center on Saturday, Sept. 19, while the Under-14s and Under-13s traveled to face Cedar Stars Academy on Sunday, Sept. 20.
The U-18s claimed the Revolution Academy’s lone victory of the weekend, posting a dominant 3-0 win over Toronto FC, headlined by Paolo Tornberg Ayala’s (2009 – Revere, Mass.) brace. New England took the lead just 10 minutes into the match, with Levi Katsell (2009 – San Diego, Calif.) assisting on Tornberg Ayala’s opening goal. Tornberg Ayala doubled the advantage in the 71st minute off an Alexander Glassman (2009 – Westboro, Mass.) assist, before Chris Scott (2010 – North Tonawanda, N.Y.) connected with Isaac Twumasi (2010 – Lawrenceville, Ga.) in the 79th minute to cap the Revolution’s 3-0 triumph. In goal, Reinner Fidelis (2009 – Billerica, Mass.) played all 90 minutes to secure the shutout for the U-18s.
The U-16s fell to Toronto FC on Saturday. The two sides battled through a scoreless first half before the visitors established a 2-0 lead with goals in the 54th and 68th minutes. New England mounted a late comeback effort, with Stefan Gorea (2011 – Sharon, Mass.) scoring an unassisted goal in the 85th minute, but Toronto’s defense held firm to secure the result. In the U-15s match, Toronto FC shut out the Revolution, 4-0.
In Sunday action, the U-14s battled Cedar Stars Academy to a 2-2 draw. New England found the breakthrough in the 22nd minute, with Malachi Rougier (2013 – Dorchester, Mass.) setting up Nichollas Texeira (2013 – Rockland, Mass.) for the opening goal. Texeira then assisted Kauan Nascimento (2013 – Andover, Mass.) in the 52nd minute to double the Revolution’s lead. However, Cedar Stars Academy rallied with back-to-back goals in the 78th and 79th minutes to level the match.
The U-13s rounded out the Academy’s weekend action, battling to a 1-1 draw at Cedar Stars Academy. The Revolution grabbed the early advantage as Teddy Berntorp (2014 – Newton, Mass.) scored in the seventh minute off a Sebby Rosado (2014 – Manchester, Conn.) assist, but the home side responded with an equalizer in the 34th minute to close out the scoring.
The U-18s, U-16s, and U-15s embark on their first road trip of the year, taking on Red Bull New York on Saturday, Sept. 26. The U-14s and U-13s are back in action this Saturday as well, hosting regional rival New England Football Club (NEFC) at the Revolution Training Center.
