Natick boys soccer celebrates first state final trip since 1987

Natick wanted revenge. The Redhawks got that and more in the Division 1 boys soccer state semifinals against Bay State foe Newton South

They’d definitely get a call up. These high school soccer players were named All-American and All-New England by the United Soccer Coaches of America.

It’s a list that includes Division 1 commits, players participating in the state championship game and longtime stalwarts. Here they are (Note: All-Americans also were selected to the All New England team):

Emily Burnham, Wellesley

The senior Penn commit is an All-American for the first time. She led the Raiders to the Division 1 Round of 16 this season. Burnham scored the game-winner in the 2024 state final for Wellesley.

Luke Dougherty, Natick

His season started off with a viral, gravity-defying goal and may end with a state championship. Natick will face St. John’s Prep for the title Saturday. The All-American has two overtime winners this postseason.

Sidney Heavey, Medfield

Just a junior, the All-American will play in her second consecutive Division 3 state championship game Saturday, as the Warriors seek revenge against Nipmuc. Heavey is committed to the University of Central Florida.

Ciara Morrissey, Lincoln-Sudbury

The senior earned All New-England status after leading the Warriors to the Dual County League title. L-S also advanced to the Division 1 Round of 16.

Emmy O’Donnell, Concord-Carlisle

The prolific All-American junior scorer is committed to Duke. She led the Patriots to the Division 1 state semifinals, upsetting No. 2 Bishop Feehan on the way. O’Donnell provided the winning assist against the Shamrocks.

Nicole Proia, Natick

The senior All-American has the Redhawks back in the state championship game after a two-point performance in the semifinals. She will Seton Hall next season along with her twin sister, Lydia Proia.

They’re baaaaaack: Salvo of goals sends Natick girls soccer past Belmont back to MIAA Division 1 state final

Max Tillman, Medfield

The senior made the All-New England squad after leading the Warriors to Division 3’s No. 1 seed and a Tri-Valley League small title.
