The Patriots’ new training facility officially has a name: the New Balance Athletics Center.

The 160,000-square-foot, three-story building, which will feature a nutrition center, players’ lounge, locker room, and weight room, is set to open adjacent to Gillette Stadium this spring, the date to be announced.

The main floor, according to Kraft Sports and Entertainment chief operating officer Jim Nolan, is a dedicated space for players to work out, train, rehab, relax, and eat, while the top floor is designed for players and coaches to watch film and meet.

New Balance will sponsor the surrounding practice fields, as well.

“New Balance is a brand that shares our deep roots in New England and our commitment to performance, innovation, and excellence,” Kraft Group president Jonathan Kraft said in a statement. “As we look to the future, this new training facility will be a reflection of our relentless pursuit of improvement, providing our players and coaches with a world-class environment to prepare and compete for championships.”

As part of the new long-term agreement between New Balance and the Patriots, the Boston-based company will also serve as the club’s footwear and apparel sponsor.

The relationship is part of New Balance’s growing sponsorship portfolio, which features a number of high-profile athletes. Among them are Bills quarterback Josh Allen, tennis star Coco Gauff, Olympian (and Northampton native) Gabby Thomas, Mavericks rookie (and Maine native) Cooper Flagg, and international baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani.

New Balance is also the sponsor of the Auerbach Center, the Celtics’ practice facility that opened in June 2018 and is located at Boston Landing.

“The Patriots embody excellence, performance, and an authentic connection to the local communities, both on and off the field,” New Balance’s brand president and chief marketing officer, Chris Davis, said in a statement. “This collaboration represents an enduring investment in performance, culture, and community, with the goal of creating opportunities that inspire and empower the next generation of athletes to play, grow, and compete.”
